Still on Your Throne

a poem by Mary Alison

Though my enemies rise from every side,

And it seems all these,

Promises are swiftly put to an end,

I know it is not so,

You,

Oh God, You are still on Your throne,

I am Yours,

Let my eyes see,

This land is Yours,

My hope lies in Your word of truth,

You have spoken to my heart,

I am Yours claimed and made whole,

You have captured me from death,

You gave all,

Taken from snares and traps,

My heartaches,

Though mountains rise high,

You are higher,

More beautiful than I could imagine,

Powerful and mighty,

Loving and forgiving,

You are here still on Your throne,

Your songs of deliverance wrap around me,

Changing me,

Bringing me out of my despair,

I fear not,

For You have come,

Banner of victory,

Your blood runs over me,

Though giants loom,

And I am so tiny,

It is not me,

But in Your name,

I will now lift up my head,

Step from the shadows of despair,

And go forward,

In Your name,

Knowing this place claimed,

Spoken for,

You

Mighty tower,

God on high,

You still sit upon Your throne,

You have not moved,

And You have brought me back,

Brought me forth into Your love,

Darkness is shattered,

Life come crashing,

Breath of wind,

Spoken over me,

Songs of deliverance,

Where I may go,

I am wrapped in these songs,

Covering me,

You chased me,

Found me,

Put Your claim over me,

This life delivered,

No longer my own,

I am breathed on,

And I will rise up alive,

Your songs covering me,

My shelter,

No matter what,

I am Yours,

And Your songs of deliverance cover me,

Stepping into this battle field,

Giants looming over me,

I will lift my eyes unto You,

My Lord,

And see Your songs of deliverance,

For You are still on Your throne,

My Strength,

I will dwell in the places of You,

And looming giants have fallen,

And I am delivered,

Claimed and Yours,

I now will live again,

Coming forth,

In the name of my Lord,

I am Yours,

Though fragile this life be Yours,

And the giants fall, And I live again,

Because You are on Your throne,

You have not moved nor changed,

Your love for me,

Brought me out,

And You are still here,

Upon Your throne.
